# Connect Mixpanel

> Connect a Mixpanel project with a service account so the agent can query events, funnels, retention, and saved reports.

Mixpanel connects with a **service account**. Once connected, the agent can query events, segmentation, funnels, retention, saved Insights reports, and JQL for one Mixpanel project.

## Step 1 — Create a service account

<Steps>
  <Step title="Add a service account">
    In Mixpanel, go to **Organization Settings → Service Accounts → Add Service Account**. Give it at least the **Analyst** role on the project you want to connect.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Copy the credentials">
    Copy the service account **username** and **secret**. The secret is shown only once.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Find the project details">
    Copy the **Project ID** from **Project Settings → Overview** (or the number after `/project/` in the Mixpanel URL), and check where the project stores data under **Project Settings → Data Residency**.
  </Step>
</Steps>

## Step 2 — Connect in Ryze

On the **Integrations** page, click **Connect** on the **Mixpanel** card and fill in:

* **Service account username**
* **Service account secret**
* **Project ID** — numbers only, e.g. `3018123`
* **Data residency** — `us`, `eu`, or `in`, matching the project's data residency

Click **Continue**.

<Tip>
  After connecting, start a **new chat** so the agent picks up the new integration.
</Tip>

## Troubleshooting

* **"Project ID must be numeric"** — copy only the number, not the full URL.
* **Credentials rejected or no data** — check that the service account has a role on this project and that **Data residency** matches the project.
