# Meta ads automation in Ryze: what the AI agent does on Facebook and Instagram

> What the Ryze agent can read and change in your Meta ad accounts, how approvals work, and how to start on Facebook and Instagram.

Ryze is an AI agent for Meta ads. Once your Meta ad accounts are connected, you can ask about Facebook and Instagram performance in plain language, and the agent can act on your campaigns under the approval settings you choose. It works the same in the Ryze chat and from Claude or ChatGPT through the Ryze connector.

## What the agent does in Meta

* **Answers performance questions:** spend, ROAS, CTR, creatives and ad sets across every ad account your login can reach.
* **Changes campaigns through Meta's official API:** creates campaigns, adjusts budgets, pauses or resumes, and swaps creatives. Changes follow your **Tool approvals** setting, so you decide what needs your sign-off. See [Paid Ads FAQ](/paid-ads/faq).
* **Proposes fixes on its own:** once accounts are connected it checks them several times a day and sends proposed fixes to your [Inbox](/agent/approvals).
* **Runs a campaign end to end:** with [Managed Campaigns](/paid-ads/managed-campaigns) you set a daily budget and a goal; the agent builds its own campaign named "\[Managed by Ryze]", launches it, pauses losers, shifts budget to winners and rotates fresh creatives. Your existing campaigns are never paused, edited or reused.

* **Watches competitors:** live Meta ads from the brands you track. See [Competitor Ads](/paid-ads/competitors).
* **Sends conversions server-side** to Meta with the [Ryze Pixel](/paid-ads/ryze-pixel), if you turn it on.
