# Guest Posts

> Ryze writes guest-post articles aimed at external sites — you review and approve, then they're placed to earn links back to your pages.

Guest posts are off-page content: articles written to live on other sites and link back to yours. Ryze drafts them for you, you approve, and the placement earns a backlink to your site.

Find them under **Mentions** in the SEO sidebar, alongside press releases and backlinks.

## How it works

<Steps>
  <Step title="Drafted">
    Ryze writes a guest-post draft — body, meta title, and meta description — built around your priority keywords and pages.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Review & approve">
    You review the draft and edit it as needed, then approve it for placement.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Published">
    The post is placed on the target publication, and Ryze records the placement URL — the live link pointing back to your site.
  </Step>
</Steps>

Guest posts share the same status flow as the rest of the engine: **planned → drafted → published** (or **failed**, with a retry).

## Why they matter

Each placed guest post is a backlink. Backlinks are one of the strongest signals for domain authority — see [Backlinks](/seo/backlinks) for how Ryze tracks them.
